20ga. slug diameter
« on: August 08, 2009, 01:37:45 PM »
What is the diameter of a 20 ga. slug? I was just curious if the 20 ga. brass shot shells from cabellas could be loaded with bullets designed for the 50 BMG.

IIRC, they are .600"  The 50cal bullets are somewhere around .510".  Probably won't work at all.

Thanks, Dinny

And besides all that the 20gr is a shotgun not a rifle.

I was just considering sort of a smooth bore 50 cal. rifle using the 750 gr. browning bullet. Just for fun.
