This is a Boyd's stock, but I think it is discontinued. About the only one you can get any more is the Ross Thumbhole

And The JRS Classic

I think one of the major manufacturers got exclusive rights tot heir production on the one you see on my rifle and the one like mine that is a thumbhole stock - a sort of cross between mine and the Ross FT

Mine is the pepper laminate, but you can get them in other laminates too - cinnamon is a popular choice, but you can get several different ones. they are listed on the pages I linked you to.

I really like my stock and for $85 it is hard to beat. Good Luck and Good Shooting

I know someone with a Boyds thumbhole on a model 16 in .204.  I like the stock quite a lot.  Nice looking stock and feels good to me.  Nice palm swell, and it lengthens the distance from the palm to the trigger.  That's nice for me because I don't find that distance comfortable on most stocks (at least most Savage stocks?).  The person who owns the gun finds that new distance to be a bit too long for his taste, though.

Put a Boyd JRS on a 110 in 7 mag. with the 24" whippy barrel.  I checkered it and finished it myself. If you are recoil sensitive you may want to go with a laminate.  The rig with a 6x Leup weighs less than 7 lb and is a pleasure to carry but I don't like to shoot it with just a T shirt on.

I'll have one on mine soon!

I have been watching all summer long since my original black plastic stock is starting to give me problems.  I really wanted a JRS in camo laminate but I was starting to think they weren't ever going to produce them again. No one had them in stock. Then just about 30 minutes ago, I happened to hop on boyds site and look around.  I looked at a few other colors since I was about to give up on the camo.  They were ALL out of stock.  So I clicked on the 110 camo lam just in case and.....IN STOCK!!!  I ordered right away.  Can't wait.  I hope it feels good and fits without to much work.  They still have them in stock if you're interested.

I'll post here whenever I get it.

PS: Mine is a 30-06 too.  Whenever I shoot it I'll let you know how the recoil is.  Mine never bothers me even with stout handloads but it is strong enough to leave a bruise after a good long day at the range.
