16ga Slug
« on: July 30, 2009, 05:41:24 PM »
Do you think a .670 Dangerous Game Slug is to tight for a .666 choke smooth bore? It's on a Mongomery Wards Hercules 5100 16ga SXS Dbl barrel. Thanks for any help Kurt

In my opinion, yes. The dangerous game slugs are more solidly constructed, and made of a harder alloy then the soft foster type slugs .Most double barrel shotguns have rather thin walls. I think you would run the risk of bulging your barrels or worse. Check with the manufacturer ,I'm sure they have recomended choke dimensions for their slugs, and can give you much more information than I.
