Hey guys,

Not too long ago I bought a 1964 model Ithaca 37 with a deer slayer barrel and a vent ribbed barrel that has the Ithaca markings on the side but does not have the Raybar sight and has Simmons Gun Specialties Inc, Kansas City MO on the left side of the rib. I have not been able to find any info on these barrels and would like to know if they are any good. Any info would be appreciated.

Simmons sold ribs that were added to plain barrels. I don't remember that they sold the barrels themselves.

Thanks for the reply. Is is possible Ithaca bought these ribs to put on their barrels from the factory? As I said, the side of the barrel has all of the correct markings for an Ithaca made barrel, just like on my Deerslayer barrel and like the two factory barrels my friend has for his M37.

My best guess is that the rib was added to the barrel after it left the factory.
