Thanks Montanan, I have been loading 200 gr LaserCast with AA#9 and they shoot very well, the long barrel is not the handiest though!
I'll probably get a stock length barrel too, so I can shoot lead. How do you like your Lone Wolf barrel?

Love the LWD stock barrel, but would like to get the 6" for handgun hunting.  Of course its not practical for normal carry, but adds to a better fps for those applications, or one can order the longslide from LWD for it as well.

I've got a G20 with a factory G21 slide to go with it. Fits my hands really nice.

I have a Glock model 20 (10mm) and the little brother model 29! Also have the newer Glock 21-SF model (45acp) I do like the way the model 20, 29 and the newer model 21-SF fit my hand. Those just feel a little better to me than the other model Glocks we have at the house.

I've been considering buying a model 20.  Can you guys tell me if the frame is larger than the 21 and the 22?  Also, how is the recoil?  I have a 23 right now, and find it a joy to shoot.  this is why I am considering adding full size to my collection.

Thanks,
Kevin

Same size as the G21, larger than the G22. Recoil is not bad at all with full power loads.

I have a glock 20SF with 6" lone wolf barrel and meprolite adjustable sights.  It makes for a really nice field carry pistol in a chest holster.  I shoot mainly 200gr JFP @ 1300fps or 220gr cast bullets at 1050fps.   They hit pretty much same point of impact and shots out to 50 yards on fist sized rocks is fairly routine.

I agree with SALVO 100%!!!.........The recoil is NOT that bad, the Glock pistol design helps to eliminate some of that recoil. My wife shoots a .40cal model 22 and she can shoot my model 20 (10mm) except her support hand comes loose after the 3rd shot. She also shoots my Kimber model 1911 45acp into small little holes at 12 yards!

The only thing about the Glock 20 or 29, is finding holsters for these pistols, stores just don't stock them and want you to order them etc. I been looking for 3 weeks and finally found a holster for my other Glock 20.

Even shooting Double Tap Ammo with 200-gr WFNGC @ 1300 fps this really has no more recoil than a Glock 22, I love mine.

That's a great idea, I sold my old trusty G21 after getting the G20, I miss it!
Where did you get the G21 slide?

Oldshooter, I bought it from Lone Wolf in 2006, I can not remember the price though, seems like around $175.00. I checked Lone Wolf and they no longer list them?
They do sell one of their own and is less expensive.

I have a 20 and love it. It is stock except for some trigger work. I also find it to be just about perfect for the woods and deserts I like to play in. I took it up to AK with me on a moose hunt and I wore it for 12 days straight.

I have killed some pigs with it in TX and I like it for that as well. We hunt with dogs, so shots are close and it does not over penetrate like a 44m. or my .45 Colt loads do. This is much safer for the dogs and a catchers. It is great to carry 15 rounds in such a light package. It allows me to go off hunt all day and not have to worry about carrying extra ammo in the saddle bag. An extra mag makes it 30!

I like those chest rigs you linked too. A bunch of the AK bush pilots carried 20's in chest rigs like those. I also like the ones made by Grizzly Tough:
http://www.grizzlytuff.com/

I could even get 10mm out in the little village of Aniak.

Great gun, I highly recommend them!

ECVMatt the nice thing about these holsters such as Grizzly Tough which does look pretty much like my Alaskan Sportsman is that they will adjust to outter garments ie winter coats etc.  I also wear mine over my snow camo and down coat while coyote hunting here in NW Montana in our winter conditions.  The only thing I don't use is my magazine holder, because the magazine sticks up to high and causes a problem getting a grip on my Glock.

My Glock has been thru all kinds of bad weather and just keeps on going.

I bought a new G20 10mm two years ago. It's my backup/carry gun for deer hunting with DoubleTap heavy loads. I now have the Lone Wolf 6" ported 9x25 Dillon barrel with it. Takes about a minute to change out and uses the same mags. I replaced the captured factory guide rod and 17# spring with a SS captured rod, 20# spring, and a fiber buffer. The original is now my backup.

I have the model 20 and it is probably my favorite Glock. I done a trigger job and replaced barrel with LWD 6" w/2 comps cut(knocks recoil down a bit) and also have ss guide rod w/20# spring. SHE ROCKS.

Is it true the mags are not interchangeable between the standard and short frame?

Here's my 2nd gen Glock 20 I got off Gunbroker. I have a matching 21 as well. Love the older Glocks.
