PT145 Rail or No Rail?
« on: July 16, 2009, 04:16:52 AM »
I've got a line on a used PT145, but I don't know whether it's Millenium, Pro, or what (haven't seen it in person)?  I do know that it does not have a light rail on it, but most pictures I see of these do.  Is the unit I'm looking at older, or just a different model?
Also, anything I should look out for in this used pistol?
Thanks.
Don

Talking to myself again...

Turns out it's not a Pro, but a pre-2002 Millenium.  It's mine now.

New question:  The opening in the back end of the slide was missing the filler plug.  Taurus sent me a free replacement ("I shouldn't do this, but I will") because it had just been in there for a new firing pin and recoil spring.  It doesn't fit.  I mean, it's the correct shape, but the retaining tongue for the plug has nowhere to go on the slide. It appears they either changed the design(and sent me the new style) or the original Millenia didn't have the plug.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
