Blowback with Knight woverine
« on: September 25, 2003, 01:43:16 PM »
Got the new Knight woverine II shooting well today but the blow back is pretty bad. I was shooting 295 grain powerbelts and 80 grains of 777 which shot a big old ragged hole at 50 yards. Some shots rebound and the disc turns sideways and a couple of times I got sprayed in the face  . Could the spring on the firing pin mechinism be to weak.  Don

Disc? Do you mean the red Full Plastic Packets? If it is, is it the primer popping out of the FPJ? I've had that happen with my wife's Wolverine 209. They pop out if you reuse the jackets (I do myself). If the primer is coming apart, then it's being hit too hard. The solution to that is to cock the gun and leave cocked for a few hours. It loosens up the spring. Also, I think rounding the striking surface off (just a little) may help too. I haven't been able to accomplish this yet though.

Yes Wolfhound, I'm shooting the "red full plastic jacket" and did use some again and as you said, some of the primers do come out. I was having the same problem with new ones. I did find out that the primers have to be inserted as far as possible. My 11 year old was not pushing the primers all the way and almost everytime the primer seperated and the full plastic jacket was side ways. I even noticed with 2 new ones that the cocking mech. would almost recock itself on some shots. I have to admit the 295 grain Power belt with 80 grs. of 777 had a fair amount of recoil   .

WD45, I haven't tried anything but 777. I may have to try something else as between the bad Encore barrel and the Knight, I only have about 10 shots left  . I usually don't use a pound of powder in 3 years. Don
