Introduction

I just wanted to stop in here and say Howdy to y'all. I don't officially own an Encore quite yet, but have paid for one. Now I'm just waiting on it to arrive. I'm sure I'll be wearing y'all out with questions before and after she arrives. Which will hopefully be in time for me to develop a load and take it Elk hunting this fall.

Looks like some great people and great info here. Look forward to kicking back and learning some stuff.

Oh yeah, the rifle?

Blued Encore frame, 24" Medium Varmint contour .280 improved, Utility grade stock (unfinished), 6 hole base with Burris Sig Zee rings, Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14 scope (extra I have doing nothing at present), all matte black finish. Gonna finish the stock with a coffee stain and satin clear.

All coming from Bullberry. They say around Mid-August. I hope that's accurate!

First food for it will likely be Nosler brass (280imp), RL-22, IMR 4831 and/or 4350 powder, CCI 200's, topped with 160gr Nosler AB's or Partitions (for the Elk hunt). Once I get through this hunting season I'll develop some 140gr loads for Tx deer and pigs. Then I've just gotta get some 100gr Sierra HP's humping out of this dude for those pesky Prairie Dogs.

Anyway, howdy to all,
