Marks around sights on endeavor barrel
« on: June 29, 2009, 02:09:59 PM »
I just got my new endeavor out of the gun safe the other day and I noticed little marks around the front and rear sight that almost  resembled  very small pitting or slight rusting. I am not sure if that is what it is or not. I keep a dehumidifier in my gun safe and none of my other guns show any signs of anything out of the normal.  This gun is new and has never been wet, heck it hasn't even been fired yet. I wiped the gun down with a silicone gun cloth before I put it away for storage and I don't remember seeing anything at that time and I know I would have noticed this. I took the sights off and tried to wipe the areas in question and some of the marks seemed to disappear while some did not. Any ideas anybody. What could I use to try and remove the blemishes. This is driving me crazy because I am anal about keeping all my firearms spotless. It is the 209x50 stainless barrel.

Buy a tube of Flitz and clean the area (or the whole barrel) this will get off any discoloration or ozidation that has happened.
Flitz will get stuff off a "clean" barrel.
