single shot 22 rifle
« on: June 29, 2009, 11:52:30 AM »
Hello all, I want a single shot 22 rifle that is full size and not a bolt action. Something as close to a 1885 as possible.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

The only thing that is close to the 1885, is another 1885...! I have a 1885 Winchester/Miroku Low Wall, in 22 LR and like it very much. For me, it was worth the price.

Maybe an Ithaca 49?? Its got a lever but its more like a '92 ... still single shot. Or a Handi ?? That's a tall order you got I think.

Or an Uberti or Cimmarron replica, but for that much money ...

Stevens Favorite is a falling block that is reasonably common. The H&R Sportster is my choice for a good single.

The CZ line of bolt action rifles would be my suggestion.
the Scout model comes with a single shot magazine but will use a 5 or 10.
Go on to the CZ site.
www.cz-usa.com
and find what model you like and then order the single shot magazine.
My favorite 22 is my CZ.  it is full size and feels like a big game rifle.
