Gotcha, Taco Hold from NRA Silhouette book. Although, this shows left handed since, the image is flipped. Left hand would be atop the scope, right hand on the grip. Looks awkward, my left fingers lay over the bell on the scope, left thumb just naturally can catch the scope rings on the Weaver set up. If I shoot something with stiff recoil that wants to come back to my glasses, I hook my thumb under that first scope ring. It's easy to develop a balance between grip and scope hands, so the weight is held partly by your left and your grip is lighter without the full weight of the whole handgun. I pick my pistols up by the scope so, they are set up very solid.
The trick here is to use light recoiling calibers with a rifle scope. Most straight wall pistol cartridges can be used, the 22 Hornet and 32-20WCF excel at this.
