any one know how to find replacement screws for a pro hunter forend mabe even hex head this is the hardest gun part to find i think they are 8/40 X 1 inch

PH Rifle forend screws are ¾", but if you want to do the spacer trick, 1" are needed, Brownell's carries 8-40x1" slot heads, but TC would be the best source for the standard screws, although Brownell's does carry torx head ¾" screws in their refill packs.

They're used to float the barrel, Davemuzz has posted about it, I used it on my .375" H&H barrel, first trip to the range got me ¾" 100yd groups.  ;)

THANKS NEW PRO HUNTER S/S CAMO THUMBHOLE .223 WILL DO 1/4" 5 SHOT GROUPS OUY OF THE BOX HORNADY FACTORY FMJ 55gr do you think this will help?
