Be careful what you say about SC gov. Mark Sanford

Don't go around giving retarded people and other disabled people any verbal slights when you're referring to Sanford. It would be inaccurate and insensitive. He has blithered publicly about his indiscretions, and amplified the general condition of the Republican party and its leadership.

Governator Sanford was not out hiking.  He was in Argentina cheating on his wife with a real hottie.  So much for Sanford's presidential hopes in 2012.  First Ensign and now this.  What next for the Republicans?

Yep, we know about Clinton and Monica.

It seems the necessary testosterone required to run a state or country carries with it additional problems.

I thought he just changed parties and was celebrating ;D.

Actually this is a serious condition of our moral deterioration that we are allowing and even condoning in our country.  We are following a pattern of the past and if continued it will lead to our downfall.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

The Republican party has represented itself as a family values party.  The Governor's public babble about his "indiscretion" just adds fuel to the fire for the liberals.

Has the Republican party self destructed?

Who can, and will, lead the conservative cause?

IMO, it's time for a new party, as the old party is no longer conservative.

Notwithstanding his non-marketability as a future candidate, I think its a shame that the same people calling for his resignation are the same ones that did not come to his aid when he had to fight his own state courts and legislature when they pushed him to take federal stimulus money.

Frankly, it was obvious after that defeat that he could not govern his own state, since the state congress and courts knuckled (or suckled) to the teat of federal bailout bucks.  At that point I would have taken a long walk along the Appalachian trail and told Columbia to shove it.

He's just stupid for the affair business, but that is his business.  May his wife and God have Mercy on him.

Liberals have no cause to point fingers or throw stones at this.  "Cigar Bill and the Oral office" grants an almost 1 century pass on jaw jacking from that side of the isle.

On another point, I think its counter-productive that some people are looking for a banner bearer for the GOP, or the "new" party.  You all are getting stuck in the rut of having a talking head, figure head, or poster child to lead us out of this mess.

"Of the people, by the people, for the people" means that it is going to take people, not just one.  If your waiting for your own single political messiah to come along and save you, than you are screwing up.  It's an active process.

Perhaps if you have common sense, you may play a bigger role than you think?

Think Palin?  Sure.  I would like her to be involved, but it's going to take a lot more people, and a lot more individual effort on their parts.

Can't remember last August, who said that all the Ron Paul supporters should start working on 2012 - wait a minute, I said that - wonder how far that cause is gone?  I mean, you may want to get started before you are labeled extremists.

Somehow it seems that if you are from the party of no standards (Dumbycrats), you can throw stones at the Repubnics and make believe you're standing on the high ground.  Hasn't anyone noticed that when a Republican is caught with his pants down, he either leaves of his own accord, or is ousted fairly quickly.  When a Dumbycrat is caught, he becomes a legend and is revered as a stud, or mans man and either stays in office, or is reelected.

I remember how Jack Kennedy dallied around on his wife and it only enhanced his legend.  Didn't FDR also have a mistress?

On the positive side for the Dumbycrats, I don't think they have to worry about the Kenyan straying, because I think he knows what Michele would do to him.

Everything that my mother and father taught me, both spiritually and morally, the Democrats are against it all. What this country needs is a man of moral beliefs, religous beliefs and a strong will to stand against the Demo party. Is there a Republican of this type left in government, especially in Washington, to take on this positition? This is our only hope to bring this country back where it belongs. Our prayers need to be, that God will send us this man. Just my 2cents worth.

ok lets face it as long as either party is able to promise voters a free ride they will win . The rep's are becomming more like the demo's because of this fact. So anything less than some "event" that will end the free rides and minority BS we will be stuck with more of the same. Guess you might say the freeloaders out number the workers and until that changes we will be what we are !

Might as well start to think about breaking away from the "party" thing....there doesn't seem to be any difference in Republican or Democrat parties in my eyes. Here in Michigan we have Republicans calling for a "bigger tent" to draw in more people...translation....it means the Republican party has thrown true conservatives under the bus and want to distance themselves from us.  Which worked....we distanced ourselves from them, and it killed them.   ;)

In my opinion the repuiblican party is now too stupid to realize they got what they wanted, and the only way they could get anyone in their camp now, is to steal democrats....which won't happen, so they are dead for good.  They must be brain dead...??

Independent part is the way to go now...there are no other alternatives for true conservatives.

I will watch the country go down the crapper by Dem control, and still will not vote republican again.
I bet there are millions like me.  I will not ever vote for the best of the worst again as long as I live.
To hell with them all republicans included.  They turned their backs on us for too many years.

They can have as big of a tent as they want.  I'm looking for a smaller one.

+1

I voted Republican for 50 years.  Finally figured out that the lesser of two evils is still very evil.  Registered Independent after the election last year.  Ain't playing the silly game any more.

Shame so many give up .

I didn't give up Shootall,  I will vote for a true conservative when there is one...I'm just not voting to keep any party alive,  I'm not beholden to any party, especially a two system party that all basically vote the same way, spend and tax, less freedoms (for our own good of course) going to war with no good reasons...both parties voted for all this stuff and much more that people don't bother to read in the bills that pass.  Even in this health care package that they have been writing, our leaders made sure to write in that THEY do not have to have this health care...it's in there already...just in case it passes...they wanted to make sure it would not affect CONGRESS.  Must be a great health care package eh?   ;)

Now if a republican came to the plate and was honest and logical and said that his party have been idiots and pointed out the republicans have made a huge mistakes and publically named them off and read out loud what they voted for and shamed them on national TV...I might consider it, but the republican party itself will not allow such a man to represent them anyway, so that won't happen.

Let the Dems break it all real good....the people wanted it, they got it.  I'm tired of it all, and tired of fighting with people that call themselves conservatives but are not.  I'm just plain tired.

democrats/republicans they are all dishonest. All they care about is getting re-elected and sitting on their big behinds in Congress. My local congressman in New York State actually has his official residence in Delaware. Something to do with taxes. These dummies here keep re-electing him!!!

Fact of the matter is our goverment has become so skewed that our founding fathers must be turning in their graves!

our elected officials were not meant to be in office for their entire lives and they are supposed to be our collective voice!

officals were to meant to serve one or two terms and get out, heck they weren't even meant to be full time positions much less be paid the unbelievable sums of money that they get! Now they have pensions, full medical for the rest of their lives and even collect SSI.

How many hear voted for the bailouts? Oh wait, I must have missed the vote on that one...Did anyone here notice actually a difference? seriously?

The only thing that you will notice will be the taxes you pay. Personally I say let them fail, then we can pick up the pieces and start over.

Heck, close the military bases in not located outside the US, pull all our troops back home, to heck with the rest of the world, and put them somewhere useful, like between US and mexico.

Then put up two fences along the entire border, say 50 yards apart 14 ft high, install a high density mine field and call it good.

Then get the heck out of NATO, come home and make a couple announcements. First all countries doing business with us. Well we are changing our NAFTA agreement. You buy the same amount as you sell... you want 1.5 billion in trade with the US then spend 1.5 billion.

Second, ATTENTION the rest of the world this is your one warning if you ever attack US soil, we will make your country glow for the next 1000 years! no questions asked, if their in your country either kill em or we will!

thank you and have a nice day!

Its a good thing that I'll never get elected!

I agree, Magooch.  Dumbycrats jump on any Republican about this sort of thing when they have their own dirty laundry that is always overlooked by the mainstream press.  Kennedy (both Jack and Ted--the latter ending up with a girl dying); FDR; a congressional leader back in the'60's with a stripper; and the list goes on.  Probably the most significant, though--and they count on the public to forget--is the one concerning a key member of congress who's been up to his neck in bailouts, failure of congressional oversight by a committee he chairs, and in many other sorts of corruption--that would be Barney Frank.  Remember his dalliance with a prettyboy congressional aide?  Oh, I forgot--gay marriage is a big Democrat issue, so Barney's "adventures" are OK, I guess.

People have been doing a lot of things for centuries, but I wouldn't want bad behavior to be overlooked on that account.  You have to wonder how anyone can be faithfull to their constituents if he/she can't be faithfull to their spouse.
