Decided I did not like the Honda VTX. Nice bike, but too loud. It had custom pipes on it and sounded real good driving around the neighborhood. But out on the highway it got a little bothersome. The ride was stiff, and hitting the cracks in the pavement on the highway hurt my back. The Honda also did not have a fuel gage, and I ran out of gas twice down town in traffic. Not a real big deal, just had to switch the fuel valve then restart, just annoying. Not able to carry anything with me as well. The Yamaha dealer gave me what I had in it as a trade in on a Yamaha Midnight Venture. The Venture already has Saddle Bags, Back Trunk, Fairing and windshield, radio, CB, CD player w/6 CD changer, Air Suspension, Two Up Seat with back rest for both riders and hand grips for the passenger, Fuel Gage, Fog Lights, and Cruise Control. And it's quite.
Sky was with me and tried to talk me out of trading bikes. "Dad, I like riding your Honda, it's cool". Greg the owner of the Yamaha shop replied, "Sky it's your Dad's bike, and he wants an old man bike, not a cool bike. He likes the luxuries now and wants to baby himself". Sky can not ride this bike. The seat is too high and wide, his feet cannot reach the ground. His legs are too short. It's a good way to keep the kid off my bike, let him get his own bike.
I agree with Greg.
