Have you seen the Obama targets?

There were a bunch of professionally printed Obama-image targets all shot up at the range. Have you seen these too? I'm surprised they've been made.  They look a lot like the ones with pictures of Osama Bin Laden: big paper and a photo.

For most target shooting, paper works pretty well, but sometimes the real thing is hard to beat.

Yep, I wouldn't be shooting or owning any of those. Just sounds like trouble.

I know in N.Y. all picture type targets were ilegal and no one could ship them to the state,also some police dept. have given away any targets that have real type pictures on them,the ACLU. you know.

The US Secret Service does not take crap like that lightly.  If the USSS finds out about that range it will be closed, the range owner investigated, the shooter/s locked up and the guy who printed the targets will have his butt scalded.

I believe I am about as far from an Obama supporter as you can find on this planet, but I have no use for targets like that, or anything like it.

This is kind of off topic but it is still target shooting. I visit a gun shop in another town close to home. They have a laminated picture of Obama at the back of the urinal. Not everyone can go back and see it unless you work there or get asked behind the counter. While I enjoy the idea behind having the picture in the urinal it sure is hard to take care of business at hand while this face is staring at your stuff.

Interesting comments. I'm guessing they were printed up some time ago, if they can cause that much trouble for a printer or a range.  Out of curiosity I did some web searches, and didn't find anything like that. Bin Laden targets are readily available. The other targets may still be available, but the word "target" and "paper" gets a lot of hits on it.

The previous post about urinal targets was intriguing, and the Obama "urinal targets" are available from some mail order outfits for about $1.50 each. They look like a bullseye, so maybe the comments about getting locked up for something like that are a bit exaggerated. In searching for references to the urinal targets a couple of very hateful and apparently anti-black web sites were found. There is quite a lot of very hateful language directed at Obama there. It's interesting that sites like this tend to dwell on the criticism of Obama's policies, while the other sites dwell on his race. I guess there still is an unfortunate niche for racial hatred.

I remember seeing them advertised during the run up to the primaries.  Haven't seen them advertised since.  Did see some hanging behind the counter at a gun shop in North Carolina back in January.

The ones I see in the gun shops are framed and have a inscription that reads "Salesman of the Year".

While I don't like his politics, I'd prefer to see him voted out so he and Al Gore could run their carbon trading business in peace.

Yeah, it's all right to write books, plays and make movies about how to assassinate George Bush, but don't be making up targets, or anything else about the devine one.  I know very well how it works.
