Handi Rifle Disassembly
« on: June 13, 2009, 02:55:43 PM »
Wanting to apply Duracoat to my Handi, but it needs to be disassembled to be degreased and sprayed....I've looked it over pretty hard, and can't figure out how to get the pin out of the receiver to get the barrel off.

Is there a trick to it?

remove the screw in the bottom of the forearm and pull the forearm down and off. Push the lever to open the action and the barrel will come off in your hand. Takes less than 30 seconds and just a phillips head screwdriver....<><....:)

Remove the forend screw and forend as MSP said to remove the barrel, complete frame disassembly, except the hinge pin, can be found in the trigger hone info in the FAQs and Help sticky, it's not a good idea to remove the hinge pin itself unless you index it so it can be reinstalled in the same orientation as originally installed or the barrel may not fit when you put it back together. ALL frame pins are removed right to left, they're spined on the left side.

Thanks for the help guys....My apologies for being an idiot. Never dreamed it would be that easy. Thought it would come apart like an Encore....There I go thinking again.

Thanks again....Will post some pics of the Duracoat job once it's done.
