What's with the retard that killed the guard at the holocaust museum? Did he just need a comfortable place to retire, like a federal prison, maybe?

Most 88 year old guys would be happily having their pictures taken at the WWII museum, but not this doof.

I have been there and the thing that gets me is how did he get a gun in there in the first place.

That is about the only museum in DC that has any real security.
You can't take a back pack in or even wear a hat in the place.
You have to pass through a metal detector and there were at least 4 guards at the door when we were there last year.
I had to go through 2 times and was pulled aside and searched because of bullet fragments in me from an old gun shot wound.
I hand to empty my pockets and remove my boots and belt and the thing still went off.

I remember the guard that was shot.
He was on duty when we were there.
He was a real pleasant man to talk to and he said he was sorry for any inconvenience they may have caused me.

How this nut got past is beyond me.

as I saw it on TV, he parked his car near the entrance and started shooting as he came thru the door with a 22 cal rifle, didn't say what kind of a 22.

He did not get past security, he attacked security.  He shot the guy that was there to keep him out.  Too bad his earlier convictions did not keep him behind bars so this would not happen.

I lived in DC when that museum opened.  I worked at DIA, we got to tour it before it opened to the public.  Then we took my wife's relatives there.  It gives you cause to sit and ponder how man can be so cruel to fellow man.

I won't say this guy was sick, he was twisted.

I heard on the tube that they had cut his SS payments and he felt it was retalition for his web site. So he struck back. Was he right or wrong? I don't know.

One newsman on Fox said homeland security  was right about warning us about returning vets,I also heard someone asking if the guard that was killed was also a vet.

If you have ever been around a vet that went thru. more than they could deal with while in service and saw the nightmares and flash backs you may see a danger . It can be a problem for them and others , It is a problem we owe them all the help and support we can give . I have been friends with several who were depressed over what happened . two were decorated vets one commited suicide after over 20 years . Note he left said he could no longer deal with it. He was very successful in business and had a happy marriage .
Why would warnings like these be issued ? It could only be seen as a lack of support for the vets .

Wingnut patsy who's trigger was tripped.  No Jews were shot. This is essentially how they set about shutting down militias lumping them in with anti-semitism and other wingnut groups... This incident coincided with the USS Liberty anniversry which was getting alot of blogssphere chatter...many people getting the picture for a change.  That had to be shut down..  This time RTBA and freedom of speech will take a hit. Already the usual alphabet organizations are chatting up on mass fear media how we need hate speech laws
to protect us from too much freedom of speech...thusly innoculating certain groups from any criticism whatsoever...Kiss BoR good bye.

BBF asked what kind of rifle von Brunn used.  The AP says it was a Winchester made between 1908 and 1928.  That leaves out the .223, which I doubted just looking at the marks on the doors.  I leave it to the Winchester experts to tell us which model it was. This does not bode well, as it gives the antigunners an excuse to go after rimfire autoloaders.
