Just bought a Savage 210F and I have a question for other owners.

I picked this up at an estate auction, and when I got it home, I noticed it was marked for 3" shells. I have a lot of 12ga Sabots, but all are 2 3/4" shells. So I called Savage today to get a manual for it and was told it was designed for 3" slugs and would not eject 2 3/4" shells, but you could shoot them in it???
What say you 210F owners.........do I have to buy three inchers for this gun?
Any favorite loads?     How does yours shoot?  Anyone try the 200yd range?

That makes no sense, the extractor should still be grabbing the shell.

You are correct, it was designed to shoot and eject 3" shells. However, that does not mean in any way that it will not eject 2 3/4" shells. In fact I believe it would be safe to say that over 90% of a shells fired and ejected in a 210 have been 2 3/4" shells.

Remington Core Lokts are excellent performers in most Savage 210's.

You should be able to achieve 2.5" 100 yd 3 shot groups with a little range time.

Maximum honest effective range should be kept to 150yds.

My longest harvest to date with my 210 is 156yds.
