44 Magnum Rifle
« on: June 07, 2009, 02:43:08 PM »
For some reason I just assumed TC would stock some kind of rifle barrel in 44 magnum to fit an Encore frame. It is only available as a custom barrel. I am disappointed. I think I may just get a 44 lever gun.

I wished you could get some of the pistol calibers in carbine length barrels for the contender new from T/C. I would love to have a .357 magnum barrel somewhere around 18 or 20 inches long in stainless steel. Oh well I'll get one from MGM when I find a few extra dollars.

Check MidwayUSA.com.  They occasionally stock a 24" 44 mag barrel.  I purchased one from them before.  http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=612299

If you want a good custom barrel for a fair price and relative quick turnaround, try http://www.matchgrademachine.com/

If you have an account, this one is available now.  Kind of high for a used barrel imho, but it does come with the scope base.

Cheese,

i just became the proud owner of a Marlin 44 mag lever gun, now, it was not cheap and they are few and far between but i love my little 44 mag it shoots great especially after I put the peep on it.(I was the problem)
at 100 yds a silver dollar covers the group. and with one in the pipe it holds 11. Thats a hunting season and then some!  ;)

Wow, they have gone up in price. They are fun to shoot. I enjoy shooting my brothers Marlin.

Yep, a bit pricy, but not as bad as an AR, and a lot more punch! I saw mine on the rack and grabbed it. The man said it had been there 30 minutes and had I been 30 minutes later I would not have seen it! I really like this rifle!
