How many handguns do you own, and if your wife would only let you keep one, which would it be? And... Would you stay married?

the line about the wife was supposed to be an attempt at humor. I meant for the post to be about favorite guns and to get an idea of handguns the average forum member may have.

I have 3 357s, 2 22s, a 32,a 9mm, 2 44s, (9) with my fA- 6" 44 being my favorite. I can shoot that gun far better than any of the others.

How about you guys?

with B.O. in the white house i think we all are looking over our shoulder, and a bit edgy about questions like that.  if we get too edgy, sites like this will be less than what they are, and the bastards wins.  i never talk about how many to anyone, but my best is my single six.

I don't own any guns, so no one in the Government needs to come to my house. My wife said I can have as many guns as I want. But I told her, it was a great thought, but I don't need guns. We have the Government and local police protecting us. I don't need to hunt, I will get my food from the grocery store.

I admire all you gun guys here.  ;D

;) I don't know what happened with my post, have quite a few pistols. Too bad we are all so wary of the Nazi govet. we now have, but as long as we are armed, they are wary too. My favorite would be Smiths. A 6 " 357, 6" 44, and a 6" K. Love em. but I carry my model 60 almost every day. While the others are carried in my truck while I am hunting. :D As far as lots of pistols, that is the way to go. If there ever is real trouble, the fastest way to reload is grab another loaded gun. Mine are all ready for action. ::) :o ;D :D ;)

I've got uh... one, ya,  thats it. It's black and uh... well it's black, ya, thats the ticket. Crazy thing is, sometimes it feels all bloated, other days it is nice and slim and well, I love them... it, just the same.  That is the beauty of sticking with one platform to the untrained wife / observer, they are all the same gun. I won't be forced into choosing only one. P239 40S&W if it came down to choosing I suppose, only cause it travels the best. Then it would be time to get the 357 SIG barrel and a 9mm barrel too. It would be just one gun still, right?

I'm not liking this one gun thing it is making me think bad things. I'm leaving now, gotta check my girls make sure they feel OK.

Not sure, wife don't care, if only one it would probably be my Redhawk in 45 Colt.  You can run into some pretty toothy, big animals here in Montana.  Picked the redhawk over the blackhawk as double action might be needed.  I actually prefer the Blackhawk.  DP

357max Dan Wesson, Ruger Old Army and 45 Colt conversion cylinder, Contender in 357max, 223, and 30/30.  The Max's are great, but I have to roll my own and in an emergency or shortage of powders the 30/30 wins out, as they are found almost everywhere; even Murdo South Dakota.

We'd have a fight for sure if she said that...  I told her before we got married that I had guns and hunted and fished.  If that was a problem for her, then that was a deal-breaker.  She realizes now that I just buy based on want, not on need.  She and the kids get pretty much all they need and most of what they want.  I get one or two guns a year...  but I don't sell so they add up after a while.  Hmm... guess I'd have to keep the G2 and about 10 barrels...

I own more then I could ever justify.  I used to think things, like, OK, this is my cold weather carry gun, this is my warm weather carry gun, this is my regular rabbit revolver, this is my long range rabbit revolver, this is my snowy weather deer revolver, this one is for sunny days......... Eventually I stopped kidding myself..:)  My EX was always happy when I came home with a new gun - it meant a new piece of jewellery for her..  When we split, she kept her rings and necklaces, I kept my guns - Good deal to me..

Only one gun?  It would be my new model Ruger .44 mag. flat top single action.  I would cut the barrel down to 5 1/4 inch.  With proper handloads, it would be a great target / small game / big game hunting revolver, and a very effective self defence weapon.

I have a deal with my wife, whatever she spends on jewelry I get half that amount in my gun account.  So far I seem to have adequate weapons and ammo.  One handgun only, 22 Ruger single action.

How many here would have the  guts to sign the Declaration of Independence a couple hundred years ago?

How many here would have just hidden themselves & their guns?

These are good questions for us "Patriots" to ask ourselves on this Fourth of July.

Vote them all out, EVERY election!

More than I care to reveal here………….selecting one would be like selecting one of the kids over the others, I love ‘em all!

I feel I am the luckiest man in the world,  even after fifty years of marriage my wife still buys guns for me, and never says a word about what I bring home, course I make jewelry and keep her decorated quite well as a bribe. 8) 8) 8)
