Ammoguide has data but you have to be a member, you may be able to get data from SSK who offers it as the 375JDJ. Handloads has Contender data, Steve's pages has some too.

The same powders that perform best in handgun-length barrels will do so in rifle barrels too.  Real pressure tested data is also available in the Hornady manual and here:

In my 21" barreled Contender carbine in 375JDJ which as far as I understand is the same basic cartridge my top load with 260gr Accubonds/Partitions is 50.5grs IMR4064 with Win LR primers gives me between 2250 - 2300fps and is amazingly accurate.

Just shot my first black bear with this combo dropped it instantly.

disclaimer; this load is safe in my rifle reduce by 15% and work up safely I am not responsible for the use of this data by anyone.    :o

Alsredoak:  get on over to the Beartooth Bullets website, sign in and then peruse the articles written by Marshall Stanton and others about loads for the 444 Marlin - they get away from pistol powders very quickly and load the 444 to its potential.

You could probably start with some of Stantons beginning loads for the 444 and have that 375-444 shoot just fine.  HTH.

Mikey, your suggestion sounds very dangerous to me - perhaps I misunderstood you.  Are loads developed in a .35 Whelen safe in a .270 (same case and bullet weight)?  Are loads for a .458 WinMag safe in a .338 Win Mag (same case and bullet weight)?  No and no.  Use loads developed for the actual cartridge you are working with.

There is plenty of pressure-tested data for the .375JDJ (same cartridge as the .375/444).  As stated above: with virtually all cartridges the powder that gives the highest velocities in a long barrel also does so in a short one - and vice versa.

Nope!  You understood me correctly.  I suggested he start with starting loads for the 444 and use rifle powders.  The jdj cases use Accurate Arms rifle powders.  Starting loads developed with comparable cannister powders (i.e., H322 compares with AA2230, IMR 4064  comapres with AA2520) are about as low pressured as I can find for the parent case.

Most Preambles in reloading manuals suggest not going below the starting or minimum powder charges to avoid pressure problems and I have found this to be a valid suggestion, especially during load development.  JMTCW.
