Currently 52 degreess, Skies over Cut Bank are clear but off to the west thunder cloud forming over the Rockies'.

Did some more painting on the cannon yesterday-some final touch up.   I also drilled out the vent for quill.  Quill for those of you who don't know is a type of cannon fuse that fires virtually instantly compared to the green fuse that burns down slowly.

Here's the difference.  First green fuse fired in my Golf Ball Mortar.

Hello everybody,
Jeeze, Double D, when did you take that second film?  It looks like it was at least a couple of months ago or do you all still have snow up that way?  Looks like you like things that go boom. ;D
Today, my girfriend and I took a ride up the Gold Creek area.  Gold Creek is the area between the Rattlesnake drainage and the Blackfoot.  I was wanting to know what it looked like up there because I have heard about a lot of elk harvested up there.  The area is all Plum Creek land and is open to public access.  The area is full of canyons that are wide open as a result of a fire that appears to have really cleaned the area out some years ago.  It might be an area to do a road hunt, but because the area is so exposed and I am sure full of hunters during the general season, I wouldnt want to get out there on foot and end up being in some half blind, trigger happy road hunters scope.
Yesterday, we took her youngest son fishing at McClays Flats on the Bitterroot at the edge of Missoula.  We had to wade through waist high flood overflow to get to the area we wanted to fish.  The banks of the river were inches above the river level, but that was all we needed.  Didnt catch much, just a whitefish, but it was fun.

Gotta git'me a bigger ice box
