270 accuracy
« on: May 24, 2009, 07:45:01 AM »
I am thinking about buying a Handi in 270. How is the accuracy with factory ammo? I don't have the ability to hand load right now so hand loads are not an option. Thanks for any and all responces.

I have owned several 270 Handi's, all of them shot well.
Try some Federal Fusions, or even the cheap Power Shocks worked well in mine.
O and welcome to GBO.

MIKE   The 270 that I own, Handi ss w/ laminated thumbhole is one of my better shooters. 3/4 inch with almost every trigger pull. I used silicone forearm bedding as listed in the FAQ s. I am a hand loader, but the rifle shoot almost as good with the Rem 130 gr. pointed soft point core lokt bullets. These bullets are not the most expensive, but they do one great job in the Handi. As you will find out, each one is different. The 270 has been around a long time and makes an excellent deer rifle. You will be proud of your purchase.  Good Shooting.   JIM36
