Just more shoulder pounding to me. I stick with the 2 3/4.

Not sure.
If you are getting a smooth bore then Probably there will be no diff.
A rifled barrel on the other hand there may be a diff. Similar to shooting 38's in a 357. the 357 is more accurate due to the reduced free area.
But then again a 1 3/4" group with a 3/4" sized projectile is nothing to be up set about.
I would get some of the 3" slugs and try them out. If they make a diff then use them if not.......

I use 2-3/4. I like having a shoulder that doesn't hurt and they kill deer just the same.

What are you hunting?
When going after big nasty hogs I use 3 inch Slugs and 3 Inch 00 buck.
For deer 3 inch has no advantage in my opinion.

If it's deer your after, then they won't notice any difference between the two. You're shoulder however will
I did try some 3" Rem. Buckhammers and they do bite a bit harder in the shoulder.

Actually, I never saw the need for the 3" round, either in a slug or buckshot. The 2 3/4 " do just fine.
