Help For This Disease?
« on: May 17, 2009, 09:25:37 AM »
Thanks alot you guys. I just read about the 308 camo syn. with scope package.
Would the 223 have 1:9 twist? Serial # starts CBA. I don't want another 1:12 twist. Thanks for any help! I may pick one up tomorrow if that bull barrel isn't TOOOO heavy.

BigV ,

The 223 handi i traded to a buddy , was one hell of a shooter .. It was the 1 in 9 ...And Tim has said that will be the standard twist on all their 223 barrels .. Though it might be all .224 barrels cant recall for sure , but i'm sure on the 223s .. Mine had good luck with the hand loads i worked up , but with out a doubt loved the hornady TAP 75gr ammo , dime size groups or smaller all day long ....

So Go , Buy It  ... And it will be ol' right                        Well for a little while   ;D

All current production 223s and Hornets are 1:9", I dunno if they changed the 22-250, I never asked, but I doubt it. Once in a while they might fit an old production take off barrel to use it up, but that would be the exception, those happen occasionally.

Tim, These camo specials would be new production I hope. I was going to ask if the 22-250's twist changed.
Last year I got a delay, went home and my wife smiled and ask if I bought something today. The delay lifted in 20 mins. and I had to drive back. >:(
Yesterday I gave my cell #. Ate supper tonight, went into garage to get food for dogs and cell rings. Delay lifted. 30 second window for her not to hear it. ;D Doesn't really matter but I had just been telling her to not waste money. But then this isn't a waste is it. ::)
Default, I've heard good things about those 75 gr Taps. I'll have to see what's out there in heavier bullets. I'm excited, heaviest I've shot are 55 grs. Hope barrel is 1:9 I don't need 3- 223's 1:12 twists. Maybe make good Christmas gifts!

The combos are new, the same as discussed in the Handi rebate sticky.

Thanks Tim, I just didn't want one of those old barrels they had laying around. :) Where's the picture of that other guy? I was wondering how you changed the picture in posts from years past. Just figured you must have made a Time Machine in your garage. ;D

I mentioned that since one member here got a 1:12" 223 accessory barrel recently, or at least he thinks he did anyway, sometimes without a real tight patched jag, it's hard to get an accurate check of the twist rate. But I do know they sometimes will use a barrel that was previously fitted improperly, so it's always possible to get an older accessory barrel.

Avatars are easily changed in your profile.  ;D

That is what happened to me. I just recently contracted this disease when I bought one of the .44 mags. Now I am thinking of a .45-70. Then a .308. Then a .270. Then a .204. Then a....... I think I am in some serious trouble here.
