357 mag order update

I sent a order (for 357mag) about one month ago and decide to call to get a progress report.  The young man on the phone said that it was on back order and that that were putting different iron sights on the barrels and they were having problems.  Then he ask me if I would accept one without iron sights that that would speed up the process.  I told him it would be fine.  I will let you all know if it helped.

I thought they stopped putting sights on them. Sounds like they have hired a bunch of child laborers to run that place. They better hope Savage isn't watching this forum.

That's pretty funny to me.  I've had three .357s and had to remove the iron sights and scope them because of vision problems.  It would be nice to be able to order them either way.

Ilion charges about $65 to add sights vs $20 to add a scope rail and hammer extension. I'd take the barrel with the sights and just add the Weaver 82 rail. Personally, I like the TC Encore barrel where you can flip up a rear sight so it peeks just enough over the scope rail.
