1894 Sporter 44 mag,,,,just aquired...

anyone had one? Loaded for one? Neat 'odd' little rifle. Was going to let a Marlin collector have it but now I'm not so sure!
Blue book says in 1973 1,398 were made. Odd guns are fun.

Are you sure you're not referring to the round bolt Model 336 in .44 Mag? I didn't look in the book but the manufacture date is about right for that old gun. If so yes I have one. Very nice handy little rifle and it shoots both 240s and 300s very well unlike the newer 1894s I'm told.

flat bolt that's blued. I've owned an 1894 with the full length magazine,,this one looks like an early [1972] 1895 with dovetailed front bead sight, half magazine,,straight grip, only in 44 mag with flat bolt. Says "1893 Sporter " stamped on the barrel.
