Author Topic: It's a Handi Dandy Day!!! (Read 1098 times)

I feel like a kid let out of school in June. Got a 20 ga. barrel from Longtom and put that all together on its own frame and stock. Got the .357 mag. together and shooting wonderfully. Got the .357 Max. barrel back yesterday and the ammo for it came in too. The scope, (thanks Tim), rings and rail are going on it now. The stock is here, and the frame is on its way. Found a lovely old color case hardened SB1 frame and put the Huntsman on it, and it locked up perfectly. It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks all of you.

No, SB2. I'd be spooky about it on a SB1. I'm putting the scope on it now. The Max barrel locks up perfectly on my 7mm-08s frame, so I'll bore sight it and be shooting it in an hour.

It sounds like you have been released from the recovery room, after taking another "HANDI FIX". Isn t it great to get treatment for this addiction. Sounds like you will be OK, for a little while.

Thanks Jim. I'm bore sighting it now on the 7mm-08s stock and frame. It is blowing like the hammers of Hell outside now, so I'll just put it on paper at 30 yards or so and let it go till friday. It'll be raining in the morning.

Well, the Max barked. Killed a milk jug dead center at 35 yards. That's all for today. It's too windy to waste ammo working on 100. I'm a happy camper

I can't believe how mild the recoil is. This is going to be a favorite real fast.

Hey Doug, that guy, Quicktdtoo, Tim, is a real pain in the butt. You ever notice, no matter what the question, he's always got the RIGHT answer now!! The guy's gotta be 300 years old and remembers everything since he was an infant. I'm just wishing some day he'll adopt me.

Tim, I'm hooked. I'm in love with all my gir....Handis. There's not one that's not a shooter. The nice thing is they're all sighted in for different ranges and diffierent targets. The hardest part is to grab the right one for the job when needed. I'm thinking the new .357 Max will deal with about anything from chipmunks to deer at 100 yards or better. It's a real pussy cat. I see very little difference in felt recoil or muzzle blast between it and the Mag. I gotta find out tonight if Patty'll let me take it to bed!

Patty's a shooter, so I don't think I've got too much to worry about. I'd be in more trouble if I couldn't zero one; cause she would and put me to shame. She's a much better marksman than I am.

Tim and I are faced with the same dilema......what to do with our Handis when we can't use them any more. I'd like to get mine into some kind of a youth program. I think single shots are the way for kids to learn. I don't think spraying a lot of bullets around with a 10-22 is the way to go.

my wife had 6 kids when we got together

and we had one together.

DP, that's a good thing. One of my sons must be a Democrat.....he's only interested in video games. The other and his two sons have their own guns and never use them. It would be a waste to give any of them to those folks.
