left handed models
« on: May 12, 2009, 09:16:32 AM »
I just purchased a Savage mod 64? 22 autoloader. It is very accurate and I am pleased. Years ago I also had a Mod. 110 left hand bolt gun in 30-06. I took the accuracy for granted. After years of shooting more "expensive" guns I realize what I had back then. I am now thinking about another Savage but I can't seem to get all the features I want...Plastic stock, left hand bolt, drop out clip, short action.
Am I missing something in the catalog??? Anyone.

Yeah, it looks like a factory offering with all that good stuff may be a stretch.

Last time I wanted it in a non-factory offering I got a 110 GL, and then acquired the bottom metal and fitted it to the stock.  This was with the centerfeed mag, before the accu-stock offering.

You could do the same/similar OR, perhaps, get a 11FLNS, and then find someone that is getting rid of their 11 FCNS stock.  It should fit up with the exception of the bolt notch, which you could cut easily enough and fill the right hand notch with epoxy.

You can buy any LH rifle you want(Savage of course) with the newer centerfeed mag(4.400" action screw spacing) and send it to Sharpshooter Supply. They specialize in Savages and will make it into a detach mag setup for you, regardless if it is a factory stock or aftermarket.

Just another option for you.
