BC blackpowder loading???
« on: May 10, 2009, 01:28:59 AM »
Ive got a BC coming in tuesday in the .45-70.  I already shoot a BPC .50-70,  so Im familiar with shooting and loading the black stuff.  My question is  ....does anyone know what dia. lead to start with for the Buff. Classic?   Also how do they handle cast stuff?

Thanks for any help folks.

Both my H&R's , the 22" as well as my 36 " BC barrel love the Holy Black , as for bullet Dia. I've been shooting -- as cast  -- .459 with good results in 405 , 450 and 525 grain .

.459 works well for me.  Might want to slug the bore when it first comes in though....
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!
