I need a little guidance. I have a new SB2 30-06 that locks up perfectly and shoots great. I have a new Buff Classic CBA prefix that has a small visible light gap on lock up on the right side. I measured the gap at about .0025 - .003 with feeler gauges. The gap is only on the right side, on the left side the barrel face contacts the receiver for ZERO gap.
This gap was bugging me so I tried the Buff Classic barrel on my SB2 30-06 frame and the lock up and fit is almost perfect. ZERO gap on left side and right side has no visible gap when held up to light but a .0015 feeler gauge can be pulled out with tension and a .002 will not come out. Also the gap area is way smaller when using the SB2 frame.
Ideally I would like to use the SB2 frame and Buff Classic barrel and the Buff Classic frame with my 30-06 barrel. Is the Buff Classic frame a SB2 frame? Will it handle factory 30-06 ammo?
Thanks for any help.
