I'm thinking about putting a red dot on my slug gun, the Tasco ProPoint is the cheaper option. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have one on a Contender .45/.410 barrel and its works great. Should be the ticket for a slugger especially for the in tight and quick shots. :grin:

I've got one on my 870 turkey gun and it's held up real well shooting 2oz magnum loads so I don't think you should have any probs with slugs. Good luck.

Have an original ProPoint with a saddle mount on my 12 ga. Ithaca 37 Deerslayer for about 3 years w/o problems. Love the way you can keep both eyes open to follow your target/game. Only thing you MUST do is carry a spare battery because sooner or later you'll forget and leave it turned on after putting the gun in the case. You'll love it for the fast tracking!
