Scope mounts backordered?

I sent my Handi in for 30.06 and 12ga barrels. They advised the scope mount is on B/O, and the CSR could not give me an estimate on delivery...My rifle shipped, and should be here 5/12/09, and I have a Leupold just waiting for that .06...I don't want to go the Weaver route, so has anyone heard when the mounts may be shipping?

P.s. you guys have been awesome and informative! Fellow Newbs- I have learned far more by reading than asking...(isn't that always the way it is?). You guys are great, and I am sooo glad I found this site!

H&R isn't the only source for scope rails, there are several listed in the FAQs, Bud's, Brownell's and TGS all carry the H&R rail with extension, the extension itself is made by Uncle Mike's which are available separately too, it's the same as for the Ruger Blackhawk, #24560.

I bought a rail at a local gun store.  Call around, chances are you can pick one up locally.

You may find the Weaver #82 locally, but I doubt you'll find an H&R rail which is a considerably better choice than the Weaver and why the OP doesn't want to got with the Weaver.  ;)

I ordered one about a week ago from H&R / Remington, and received it yesterday 5/8/09. 1 week, not bad, they must be in stock !
