You Gotta Love Oklahoma!
« on: May 01, 2009, 05:38:14 AM »
I guess this citizens of Okholama have had enough and decided to do what the Federal government won't do.  I'm sure this will be tested, but think if other states follow suit it may stand.  Lets hope so! ::) ::) ::)

The state law passed today, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in
the  mix, an amendment to place the Ten
Commandments on the front  entrance to the state
capitol.  The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU,
said  it would be a mistake. Hey this is a
conservative  state, based on  Christian
values...!

Guess  what..........We did it anyway.

We  recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate
all  illegal immigrants, and ship them back to
where they came from,  unless they want to get a
green card and become an American
citizen..  They all scattered. Hope we didn't
send any of them to your state.  This was against
the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they
said  it would be a mistake.

Guess what.........we did it anyway..

Yesterday we passed a law to include DNA samples from any
and all illegals to the Oklahoma database, for  criminal investigative

purposes.  Pelosi said it was unconstitutional.

 Guess what........We  did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as
a  Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives.

That,  for your information, makes Oklahoma and Texas the only states to
do so.  Guess what.........More states are likely to follow.  Louisiana, Alabama,
Georgia, both Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri,
Arkansas,  West Virginia, just to name a few. Should Mississippi act, so will Florida .  Save your confederate money,  it appears the South is about to  rise up once again.

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our  guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this  state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their  vehicles.  I'm sure that was a set back for the Kennedys and Ms Pelosi.
Guess what..........We did it anyway.

By The way, Obama does not like any of this..

Guess what....who cares...were doing it
anyway.

The link below will take you to a news article on the issue.

Man, that's scratchin' me right where I itch.

That's awesome.  I'd love to see some other states follow suit.  Gives me more options to move to down the road....although  OK sounds pretty good so far  ;)

I have to come to the defense of Oklahoma. Like most other states, it has some very find places. Others are not so good. But the eastern Green Country is very beautiful, and the rivers are a lot of fun.

It's hard to compare states, but let's put it this way: which do you prefer, Oklahoma or Massachusetts.

My family is Cherokee. My mother is white, and loves her church and the town I was raised in here in Texas. If she would, my wife and I would move her to the Talaquah area so fast, Texas would wonder what happened to us. My wife was born in southeastern Oklahoma. I love Texas, and am Texan to the bone, but Oklahoma in the southeastern area is as good as it gets. Massachusetts? Let the yankees have it. ;)

The states are just restating the rights they have always had.  The feds are only given three specific responsibilites, they just appropriated the rest.

Yes, and the rest of the states need to do the same. Enough is enough from this rouge government. And no, I don't just mean Obama. This government has been getting farther and farther out of hand since Reagan. He was the last decent pres.

I'm a Yankee in Michigan, and I hope this state will follow your lead.  The government is supposed to belong to the people........not the other way around.  Find me 200 acres in Oklahoma and I'm on my way.  I've had about enough of Federal crap.

With the collapse of the auto industry, the Feds have the Michigan population centers by the the gonads with their bailouts.  I doubt if this State will move against the feds for quite some time.  Might just be better to move my own butt.

I love my horses, and if time could be reversed I'd have ridden with the Confederate Cavalry.........even though I know they lost the war.  The South saw the problems with the Federal government 150 years ago.

The debt the Feds are accumulating can't be paid by me, my children, my grandchildren or my great grand children's children.  The INTEREST can't be paid.  It is insanity.

mom use to have a place in antlers oklahoma..i visited once for three weeks an almost moved there..it was like n.c. had been 20 yrs before that time.. thats not a knock .. things just moved at my pace an people made more sense.. let me add that i lived in charlotte then ..
for a country boy it just never was home. ive since moved the family to a place more similar to oklahoma .. stanly county..it will be one of the last strongholds of real living also.. theres just so many of the young folk that have been hoodooed by constant negative media and entertainment industrys, statements about the thing necessary to remain free.they really believe we are better off without guns.. at least many of them.. its scary to me..
i was telling my daughter i feared for my children an grand children ,for this reason ,,last night.. her husbands a hunter but i could tell by her saying nothing,, that shes taken the bait also.. guns must be bad .. they kill things, although she didn t say it ,on the phone....like i said ,a bit scary..

Do you honestly think perry is going to file anytime soon. Texas has asked for federal assistance more than any other state.
13 times. Right Perry lets see you secede from your cash cow the federal government. Give me a break and get real.  The only debacle going on is the rippoff bailout of the private sector with our tax monies. We need to stop throwing money after bad , and we need to stop awarding bad behavior.

Texas and Oklahoma can go it alone, or borrow money if needed.  What they get in aid can't possibly exceed what their Federal liability is.  They won't be fighting wars, building new weapons, maintaining a defense, paying for lunatic fringe programs, etc.  Good bye Feds :D

Where did you get your information on Texas, and this imaginary cash cow. If Texas and Oklahoma could rid themselves of the rest, we would do just fine.
We have the natural resources, Texas refines over 70% of all the oil for the rest of the United States, and holds more than 60% of all defense contracts.
Now I do agree with everything else you said in regard to bailouts, and bad behavior.

I do believe a New American Revolution is just around the corner.  I'm fighting cancer, and would much rather go out fighting for liberty.

If Texas quit the Union, she wouldn't have the defense contracts.....just a thought.  The bulk of my family's income just now is from defense contracts.  Patty is a Contracts Administrator for her company.  At present, they've got about 30 million in open government contracts.  Not bad for a small town business.

Well petemi, I had much rather you not go out AT ALL. Kick the cancer, and enjoy that liberty you may have to fight for. I am praying for you the instant I finish this post to do that very thing. ;)

OK lets get the air cleared! As much as I think secession may be a good Idea. With everything going on in washington right now. This is what was  said By Rick Perry

Quote
Although Perry made it clear that he doesn’t see the need to secede and isn’t advocating it, he said there’s no question that it’s on the mind of some Texans. That was obvious at tea parties around the state, where "Secede" was a popular sign slogan.

"Texas is a unique place," the governor told reporters in Austin. "When we came into the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that.

"My hope is that America, and Washington in particular, pays attention," he said. "We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that? But Texas is a very unique place, and we’re a pretty independent lot, to boot."

Besides, we were just bragging on Oklahoma!  I always pull for Oklahoma, unless they are playing Texas   ;D

I remember old Sam's words---"you can go to hell, I'm going to Texas."
I can handle the change.
Most folks have not considered all the changes and I am not sure they could cope.
I am remembering the Israelites when they were all for gettin the Hay out of Eygpt--until they got out of Egypt.
Suckin it up is different than talking.

I am an Okie who will tell you that much of what the OK legislature does is feel good stuff.  OK is probably more politically corrupt than Mexico.  The OK county commissioner scandal was the biggest scandal ever investigated by the feds:  Read A Bad Day For The Good Old Boys.  Over 200 OK county commissioners went to federal prison.

Read the book Justice For Sale and find out that three OK state supreme court judges were taking bribes to throw cases.  Two of them went to federal prison along with the speaker of the house.  One third of all impeached governors were from OK.

OK cannot survive without federal funding because OK is a net welfare state.  In 2005 OK took in $1.36 for every $1.00 paid in federal taxes.

Let the yankees have it. ;)

Yes, I have spent some time in Tahlequah, one of my boys played ball there from time to time, it is in the middle of
"Green Country". This was when I lived in NW AR. about 7 miles from OK line. I also like Southeastern OK in the Ouachita Mtns. But I live in AR, which is great as well with alot of Natural Resourses. I would like to see AR in this
clump as well, but we have some pretty weak polititians for sure.
You will not make peace with the Bluecoats, you are free to go.
