Which is the most effective muzzle brake?
« on: April 28, 2009, 06:09:32 AM »
I recently acquired an Encore 460 S&W 15" barrel.  I plan on shooting bullet weights from 260gr on up.  What is the most effective break and how much will it tame this beast??  Thanks in advance for your input...

I have a T/C muzzle brake on my .308 pictured.      It reduces the recoil really good, but I have heard that the best recoil reduction you can get is from a guy who owns Holland Guns.      www.hollandguns.com
i have not had him put one on for me, but I am saving and hope to get him to put one on my other encore.  I heard this from Jim at Shots gunsmithing in Oregon.   www.shotsgunsmithing.com

My .308 doesn't have hardly any barrel jump, most or the recoil comes back at you, but not too bad.

Hope this helps.

T/C will put there muzzle brake on for around $80-90.
The Holland brake is around $ 200.00 or so ,installed.
