cricket 22lr
« on: April 24, 2009, 03:36:03 AM »
my daughter has a cricket rifle which has a pretty decent trigger, but, since I'm taking over the care and feeding of it, I was wondering if a dab of lithium grease on the sear would lighten the pull? this gun is manual cock.
the reason I'm wanting a lighter pull, is because the trigger pull is about the same weight as the rifle. it's easy to pull off the bullseye.
thx

It won`t hurt, but it ain`t gone to help much eather, as far as trigger pull.

If you get a reduction in pull from lubricating a sear it isn't set up very well.  If the geometry is right it will toggle over with no noticeable travel (creep).  If there is creep then lube may smooth things out, but a proper sear should "break like glass;" no travel just bang at the right time.
