Blackie took a vacation, never saw a track. Got five coons on a coon hunt that night though. :grin:

Well, besides getting the Maine State Record Sow bear, (the guy we hunt with's hounds now have the record for boar and sow bear in Maine) and a 402 lb bear (the guy got that one too) My hounds only got 150-300 lb bear this year...with one that was 105

Two weeks at deer camp, and none of our guys spotted a single bear. Lots of sign though.

Biggest we took weight wise in Maine this year was 420 on offical scales. We took the #1 bear in Maine in 2002 with a skull measurement of 20 4/16.Maine doesnt get many bears that will make Boone and Crockett.as far as I know, this was the only one in 2002.

We normally get at least 1 or 2 400 lb bear here each year, depending on the weather...The 400 lb bear this year walked across the road in front of us....stupid thing.....the dogs rode his @$$ for 2 hours
