Shouldn't it match....
« on: April 19, 2009, 12:35:42 PM »
I had the barrel off of my new .223 ultra a bit ago and something caught my eye.  The 3 digit number on my barrel doesn't match the last three in the serial number on the receiver.  Shouldn't they match?    It's only 1 digit off - 743 instead of 443. The gun was purchased new in box. It shoots great and the barrel seems to fit well.

Any thoughts?

It must have been assembled on a Monday!  Sounds like someone at the factory engraved the lug incorrectly.  Except possibly in selling it, I don't see a problem as long as it fits and shoots well.

I agree with Pete! Not a problem as long it locks up and shoots good.
 Good shooting   Marv.
