antelope tags
« on: April 17, 2009, 06:41:18 AM »
Hi,

I'm thinking about eastern montana for this fall and wonder if anybody can tell me if I'm reading the regs right.  It looks like on Aug. 1 over the counter 700 doe/fawn tags go on sale.

Looks like a ton of tags are sold, are these limited to region 7?   Anybody hunt on these tags that can tell me the basics of them?

Any other suggestions on antelope?

Thanks.

Haven't hunted antelope for several years, but I think the 700 district has several thousand doe/fawn tags available over the counter after Aug 1.  Used to be anywhere in the 700 area, not sure if it still is, don't have the hunting regs with me.  DP

I put in for Archery Only 900 which allows me to hunt any of the districts for Antelope, but only Bowhunting for them.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info.  I think the otc doe/fawn tags in region 7 are the way we're going this year since I blew the app deadline for buck tags.  We have some ground in nw ND to hunt too so not too far away.  I'm told by FWP that the tags go on sale Aug. 10 and you can get em online.

Glad the weather's good, glad to see nobody's too thin skinned back there!

Lucky
