When you see some of the big bear shot over the years it's easy to forget just how small they are at the start............The first bear are starting to come out up here in Northern Maine anyone seeing any yet?

Not sure how to post the site as a link...........

That's pretty darn nifty Wild Country. Agreed, those babies are incredibly small. I wouldn't have wanted to be the guy crawling into the den and injecting the mama, although it looked like he wasn't in any danger. Great link. Thanks for sharing that.

Maine is a beautiful state. It’s one of the few things I miss about living in the east was my access to Maine for bear and deer hunts.

Bears are very unusual critters. They are the only critter on the planet that during hibernation, their system actually recycles their facieses and urine. And their form of hibernation is not a true hibernation. I Forget what the scientific term is but it’s not a true hibernation like reptiles and other critters.

Great pics.

That would be an awesome job to have.  Ride around in snowmobiles, get outdoors and chase bears.  I didn't see any of them with a can of bear spray either so they must feel pretty safe about doing all that stuff.
