Bill, with the near collapse of the auto industy and the crash of the housing market, thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Michiganders are out of work. It may have been a basically honest man trying to make a house payment or feed his family. Had he asked, I'd have helped. It's a domino effect, builders aren't building, carpenters, masons, laborers, lumber and hardware workers, saw mill workers, lumberers, etc. etc. are all out of work.
I've got an ad in the classifieds looking for another. If it shoots half as good as the lost one, I'll be a happy camper.
Oh yes, I can tell you some very vidid tales about Turkey. About lepers begging in the streets, government run prison prostitution, disfigurement and torture, and about the unrestricted authority of Police and Military officers. We were told to never question or challenge them in any way. They could shoot you dead in the street with no investigation. And, I can also tell you that one of the finest men I have ever met was a Turkish Navy Captain. A moslem, a family man, a religious man. He graduated first in his class from Annapolis, and the U.S. Navy War College. I worked daily with the man, and his quality led me to acquire and study a Koran to try to learn his fundamental beliefs and understand how he became such a fantastic person.
