I am shooting a 1 in 12 twist, 22 inch barrel. I would sure appreciate learning about any loads specific to this barrel. Would like to take it up to the hottest most accurate for whitetalis mosty. But still stay in the safe zone. Thanks Gentlemen....

Mine starts with a federal case, sparked with a rem match small rifle primer, charged with H332 powder and topped with a Sierra 53Gr hp match bullet.
This combo has been stellar in accuracy with my mini Mauser, my contender pistol and carbine as well as my handi ultra varmint rifles. Sorry, NOT a whitetail load or caliber IMHO.

The .223 is not a caliber I use alot except for prairie dogs and some for turkey. My favorite load is a 50, 52, or 55 grain bullet over a top load of H4895. I never checked the speed. It does well for me on all the uses I have for it. For speed, I go with a .22-250, 22-250 AI or a Swift. My pals have found a great load for speed with AA powder, I believe 2230.

20.9 grains of H4198, CCI primer, 55gr Sierra GameKing SBT. Drops pigs and deer better than it should. Just place them in the head, neck, or heart and keep your shots within 200yds.

I have not used mine for any thing but varmints and paper, so I have no clue what works best for deer. I shoot mostly lighter bullets 50 grains and under that open up quickly out of my 1 - 12" twist Ultra barrel - not suited to deer sized game.
