WHO NEEDS EJECTORS
« on: September 09, 2003, 10:18:10 AM »
What are they good for?  I always pick up my brass so I don't want ejectors.  Can some one out there give me a sane reason for ejector?

When the doves are flying fast I can reload my double barrel quicker if it ejects the shell.  That is a pretty good reason to me.

When the doves are flying you can get your limit with a single shot.  Remember, I said a sane reason.

You are one heck of a shot, 15 birds in one shot.  Sorry I responded, I thought for some reason you were searching for an answer to a strange question rather than just trying to be smart and cause trouble.  Guess sanity is a matter of debate.

Bullseye - :agree:
On the 19th of April, 1775, a tyrannical government sent an army to disarm its citizens. They ran into a touch of trouble.

Single shotgun, not one shot.

Not everyone saves their hulls. Try clearing a skunk nest witha single shot and see if you won't be happy to have the ejectors. Actually it is a personal choice. Not all break open guns have them. With my o/u about 1/2 the time I wish I didn't have them.
Just another worthless opinion!!

If I use the gun for hunting,I want ejectors. In my target guns,I replace the springs with light ones and convert the ejectors to extractors.

Dave,

Did the same thing on my 12 gauge Red Label.  Also a little footnote, here in Arizona it is considered litering while taking wildlife to knowingly leave your cases in the field.

Although I have never heard of anyone being cited for this and I try to pack out what cases I find, any peace officer who knowingly fails to enforce this is consider guilty of a class 2 missdemeanor.

Personally, I like um! I put my hand over the cases and catch them when I'm shooting skeet or trap. For a rapid reload I just let um fly!
