what happened the H&R Handi mag ?

at the start of 2007   H&R on the website had what was proto typed as the Handi Magnum
it was to come in 7mm rem mag & 300 wnchester mag  It was taken to the SHOTSHOW but was not displayed at the last minute.  I had a chance to talk with a marketing rep  "who thought that it would be a big seller but that they could not meet demand with current tooling"

anyone else have any input ??

The Handi Mags were canceled in January 2008 before the SHOT show, distributor pre-orders were insufficient for Marlin to invest the $20k in testing of the new frame.
