Now this website has lost more revenue. Lets get off our butts and do what each of us can to help out. If we want to continue to enjoy GBO, let's kick in for that priviledge! Talk it up among outfitters, dealers, folks we trade with. Encourage them to advertise on GBO. Has anyone tried to tackle Sportsmans Guide. I think it would be a great place to run their ads. Social Security should hit the bank account today, when it does, I'll send in another PayPal.

Is there a way that we could pay an annual fee to use this web site? I realize that it would probably reduce the number of people using the web site but I would hate to see Graybeard shutdown due to financial issues.

I agree, it's not the clearest thing to newer members to know how to send some $$. Is this the server thread that I've seen? Where do we send it? I would like to help, but not fond of Paypal.

The amazing amount of "free" advice, tips and knowledge that is available here on just the NEF/H&R forums section of GBO is well worth a donation, even if it's just a few dollars.

I don't know about everyone else but I still learn something new just about everytime I visit GBO.

You can see the server fund thread at the link in my signature line which is at the bottom of all my posts, there's a paypal button at the bottom center of any GBO forum page, or you can send contributions directly to Bill.

I agree, it would probably reduce the traffic here. I think it best to just kick in what we can when we can. Bill, Tim, Matt, what do you guys think?

maybe there could be full and limited memberships. Full could use all services and partial i.e. cheap. would not have the full trading privledges or something like that.

The paid membership idea will undoubtedly make this a forum/club of those folks that are regular members now. It will alienate all newcomers, so what you have is about all you will have. I don’t think you’ll attract many new members.

Here’s an idea. Make the forum viewable to all, but only paid members would be allowed to post.

Another idea - leave it like it is except, only allow paid members access to the FAQs, which is one great resource.

Or another combination of ideas. But whatever you do, do not discourage new H&R owners from coming here. That would be the eventual demise of the this forum.

If guests are dis-allowed from the forum altogether, folks will stop coming and choose other sites such as the NEF forum over on the Marlin site.

Just my .02.

My time is short and I have much to do but a short note. Heart cath tomorrow.

We've discussed some type of paid membership before but ONLY if we can come up with some package of benefits to be offered to those who pay that is worth the cost over and above what the general membership get. So far we've not come up with such a benefit package we feel is worth asking a membership fee.

We're aren't going to disallow free use of the site as has already been mentioned that's pretty much the death of a site to do that. We're growing and growing fast really what we need is to find new revenue sources. Neither Matt nor me are salesmen even tho Matt likes to think he is. Our attempts at contacting folks to ask them to become sponsors has never worked very well. Most sponsors have come to us and asked how to advertise here. That has worked pretty well in the past.

We'll just have to see how it shakes out really I just dunno.

I was in and I am in again, gonna try and make it a monthly thing! Thats all we need to do just make a donation monthly it does not need to be organized just regular with what you can.

Also talk to your dealers and try to get them here, once here they may advertise. Especially when they see what great shots we all are!

Checks on the way from a fairly new guy ( 1-26-09) Don't like Paypal. Since I'm retired this site is a daily stop that has
proven to be imformative, educational, inspirational & just plain fun. I have to add addictive as I have gone from 1 Handi & 1 Topper
