30-06 bull barrel
« on: April 06, 2009, 04:41:04 PM »
Has there ever been such a thing?  Thought i had seen a whitetail unlimited in 30-06 bull barrel?  Or is it just a modified 308 bull for a longer 06 case?  Would like to get one but don't know if i am looking for what really is not there.  I did some searching but couldn't find anything.  I have a 7400 06 that really is not that accurate & would like to add a handi barrel.  Thanks!

This site is great.  Thanks to you great folks i worked over my 45-70 trigger down from 6 lbs to 3lbs really was not that hard & was a fun project & yep it is an accurate shooter.  My 223 trigger will be next.

I have yet to see any,(would be awesome thought huh?  8) ) but by many standards the standard contour barrels are thick. The only Bull Barrel 30cal Handi I know of is the 22" 308
In any case if you want a good straight shooter 30cal pick up a 30-06 barrel. They are usually very good performers with little complaints .

Tractor I can't say I have ever heard of a bull 06  but you can move these bbl's around so easy If it was on a WTU and it was a bull it was more than likley a .308 rechamber. I got a WTU 3040 Krag (rechambered 30-30)  and a RMEF 3006 ultra comp that started I think with a .280 bbl on it.Kurt

When I am out at the range, people come up to look at the strange colored gun I am shooting.  They all say something about the Bull Barrel.  It's a standard Handi in 30-06.  The barrel is so heavy they all say it's a bull barrel.

I camoed it to a textured green finish on the metal.  A rough stone finish in black with white specks on the wood.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Sourdough, take a picture of that 30-06 and post it for so we can all see.  It is already a legend just from the stories you have posted here.
