If you look at the rifle you will see the chamber wall isn't very thick. This is probably why the 30-30 was the hottest round chambered on theis rifle, most were rimfires with some .222's and a few pistol cartridges thrown in. With this rifle I don't really know what you would do with a hotter cartridge any way. Guess you could do a 30-30 AI, that would give you a little more zip. Larry
