Stop the MADNESS!!!!!!

STOP buying all the crap and the prices will drop.Look guys I need a few bullets and powder but I'm not stupid enough to pay these prices ! i for one am not worried about anyone getting my guns.It's a mass hysteria thing and nothing else.Why are people such followers?It's insane,Joe Shmoe said this was going to happen,oh no! we better go buy everything we can get our hands on!It's rediculous in my book.90% of crap people worry about never happens so why worry? Worry about it when it happens!You'll live longer! I have never been one to let anybody rent any space in my head but I guess that's just me.Come on now,I'm tired of hearing about this and I want to shoot my guns.Can you help a brother out?  It's a little disheartening to me as well. I have been trying to find a good .380 defensive round. I took the time to read everything I could and view all the gelatin tests. Once I found the round I wanted they are no where in stock. I figured this applied to military cartridges. Seems people are buying everything, all of the local stores have just a few boxes of premium rifle ammo in stock.
 
I thought as a last resort I would reload. Same deal all the bullets are out of stock. No other components in stock either. The saddest thing is all the people who are maxing out their credit cards on this. I would hate to know I were doing that knowing the economy is going to get worse with our current leadership. I keep a good supply of ammo on hand because I enjoy shooting. Not to go to war.  I just need 1 box guys. Please slow it down a bit. ;)

Ye sounds good to me, wait tell you can't get it, and then we will hear you cry about not being able to get it at all.   But I will have my stash, and won't worry about those that want to wait tell something happens..  ::)

Yes, it's crazy.

As a cabelas employee told me "If people were down to their last 20 bucks, they'd buy a 12 pack of beer and a box of ammo"  ::) ::) ::)


As soon as everyone figures out they blew so much money on ammo they don't need, you'll see it for sale on the forums and auction sites. There should be good deals to be had in a year.

That's for sure, I went to buy a 20 round box of 45 long colt, $23.00!

I am not resigning myself to cheap beer and reloads.

Well, reloads are okay but life is too short to drink cheap beer.

The bullets will be 22LR.

Saw this coming for sometime now.
Went through is BS in the during the 90's, ended upped with a bunch of powder/primers I couldn't use in a ton of years. Gave half of my supplies to new reloaders and donated some of the monies gathered from range's 4Sale table to target setters.
Now........ain't gonna sweat it 8)
Just cover up my reload bench and ready my HD for the Spring/Summer Bike fun 8)

That's OK for people who only shoot occationally but, won't work for someone who shoots all the time, every day.

Having a "stash" is great, but when you can't replace the stuff...what do you do with the stash? Do you shoot it until it is gone or just stash it?

I am getting tired of driving a hundred mile for the last box of primers or a pound of powder. May have to take up archery, the ammo is easier to find  :D

Yesterday I found a small little gunshop in the middle of no-where. He had Federal & CCI  BR (match) primers and a new shipment of IMR powder. While I was tempted to by a TON of supplies, I decided to only buy what I needed for the next few months.

I could have bought 1,000's of primers and sold them for twice what I paid but I'm more interested in keeping our sport alive for everyone. STOP the insane buying and hording of components for the sake of our sport!

I agree, hysterics are pushing the buying frenzy. The good result is the politicians are keeping an eye on this too, and understand there are lots of new gun owners and hoarders. And most will vote accordingly.

It's crazy!  This time last year I was paying $15.50 for 1000 small pistol primers, you are lucky if you can find them anywhere today for less than $75.00 a 1000.

Sounds like someone is really lining their pockets...... ::) ::)

Texas started the Gun, reloading supply panic the day after the elections and got every other hunting state in a panic buy?
The industry middle man is making Bank and laughing all the way!
Get off your butts and go have fun outdoors for the next 6 months and see how the prices come down like it did back in the 90's!

I too have a large stash of ammo. I probably have enough 223 762x39 and 308 rifle and 45acp handgun to last two years of intense shooting or 5 years of relaxed shooting. Probably is that stash is ammo id rather not shoot up. Ive got enough powder and primers for a year of rifle shooting and probably 3 years of handgun shooting. Problem is 3 years goes by real fast! Hopefully this will be straightened out by then and when it does this boy is going to buy enough primers and powder to last the rest of my life. I wont get caught with my pants down again. As to buying at these high prices. Ive been forunate to be able to deal with some stand up places so far and havent hand to pay crazy prices other then the nomal crazy prices at gander mountain. buy ive about bought everthing local there was to buy. If i have to ill buck up and pay a little extra but my limit is 40 bucks a brick for primers. I guess i too will cover up the loading bench before i pay more then that. Im allready ajusting my shooting style. Ive actually started taking bolt action guns to the range as they eat up alot less ammo and when i have taken a black gun to the range lately its with a 100 rounds instead of 500 like i use too.

Texas firearm dealers sold 150,000 firearms in one weekend right after election night! Everyone else is elbowing their way up front to buy everything on the shelves in the 48? From what my supplier stands right now...ready to close up shop for the next three months?

Noboby thought that fella that stained the blue dress in the whitehouse would sign the first
assault weapons ban that screwed us all for ten years either! I am buying all I can
afford when I find it ! no appologies what so ever ... Am I sharing with friends and family?
