picked them up on ebay last week...
the man said it was hand made. and it did'nt even have a scratch on it..
notice the white line spacer on the butt pad and also has white spacers on the swivel eyes.. a marlin thing ;D
finger grooves in the forend are percisely spaced.
if it was hand made, he needs to come and play here!!!!!!!!!








the pistol grip is exactly the same diameter as the receiver end... very comfortable..
it resides on my 39, could not think of a better home. ;D

definately not pallet wood......

it also has a tiny butterfly inlaid in the stock below the thumb area (LH SIDE)   8)
i wish i could have enlarged this picture so y'all could see the detail
i have tried several times to get back intouch with the seller for other info on it, but no responce
i have'nt give up yet...

anyone here have a clue where this would have come from ?

BTW---I can tell it was made for a ML, cause it has the cut out in the end of the forend for the rod
and the spring loaded keeper inside...

I don't know if a pallet monte carlo stock has high enough comb for it to be reshaped like that, so I don't know. I do know that H&R has made some limited production stocks that aren't very common, I have one on my 204 Ruger that I've only seen one other like it, but yours may just be a reshaped stock or as the owner said, hand made. I also know that there are some very talented people here that can do wonders with a factory stock or a chunk of wood!!  ;) FYI, the white line spacers can be made from bleach bottles.  8)

the butt spacer has some kind of a 6 digit number, right above the bottom screw hole.
i will be researching this with my marlin rep come monday !!
a real marlin dude... 30yr vet..
in the late 70's early 80's marlin used 6 digit part# on some items...
they are too perfect in construction for a bleach bottle.
