determining value

I have an earlier Contender, second semester of '81,  Ser # 186xxx with barrels in .25-35 (octagonal 10")  .22LR (octagonal 10") and .22 Hornet (Bull 10")  all bought with the frame.  Everything is in near pristine condition, and functions perfectly.  I've been considering selling the lot.  I want it to sell, of course, but I also don't want to take myself to the cleaners. 

Where can I find what is a reasonable price to ask, and better yet, accept?

Look at gunbroker.com for awhile and see what sells and for what price.

The prices octagonal barrels go for is significantly less than what the newer barrels go for.

I agree with the above posts.
I always look to Gunbroker to see what things are selling for.
Stuff sells in waves, up one week and down the next.
Items like TC are a little lower with the economy while Items
like Black guns are selling for record $

Check out Ed's TC's website (a board sponsor).   That will give you an idea of what are resonable prices for each item, add them together and maybe discount for a package deal and you'll probabluy sell the package fairly easy.   Only the 25-35 barrel is somewhat of a bust because of the 10" length (fine round in longer Contender barrels), so even though they are getting rare it probably isn't as desireable for a shooter package.

Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated.  I have determined that my Contender and the barrels are worth far more to me than what I'd realize selling them,  so I'll just keep 'em and shoot 'em.
